Photographers – How to Boost Your Earnings

Photography plays several important roles in our society. First and foremost, photography helps the society to record its history. That said; most people are able to go back and recall their earliest childhood memories simply by glancing at a photo. Secondly, photography tends to acts as an artistic medium that actually evokes the emotions of the viewer. For instance, photographs taken of Africans dying of hunger have been known to inspire nations to come together and contribute to this population. Thirdly, photography has been used to educate. In this respect, most people would never have seen moon rocks if it were not for photography. The list is endless.

That said; we can now understand why photography plays a very important role in our lives. This in turn makes professional photographers to become highly valued members of the society.

Now, while just about anybody can take a picture with a camera, it takes a professional photographer to capture a breathtaking image. It is for this reason that these photographers have such a huge following of clients who require their services. Because of the extremely high demand, these photographers have been known to schedule numerous appointments with very many clients and as a result they usually end up disappointing some of them due to either poor memory, meaning that they cannot recall scheduling such an appointment or simply by poor planning. This of course translates to a drop in the income revenue that the photographer could have earned.

So, how can such photographers ensure that they do not lose money due to poor appointment scheduling? The answer lies in owning an online booking system. Online booking systems usually come with scheduling software that can assist such photographers to maintain and keep up with their clients’ appointments. As a matter of fact, photographers who have this service installed in their websites do not have to meet with clients in order for them to book a session. All that the client has to do is go online and find the photographers schedule. The client can then book himself a photography session and the photographer will immediately be notified of this.

The First Steps in Grasping Astrology

As soon as you jump into the world of astrology, you discover how fascinating it is. But that fascination is often replaced by bewilderment. Astrology is a big topic. Don’t try to grasp it all at once. Start with the basics.

Humankind and the Stars

Ancient civilizations like those of Egypt, Babylonia, Greece and India believed in a correlation between worldly matters and celestial events. This belief continues to this day in the minds of astrologers and astrology students. In earlier days, there wasn’t a lot of thought given to the influence of the stars on individual persons; instead the affairs of state and especially the ruler (emperor, king) were considered more important. The earliest natal horoscopes were pretty sketchy. As time went on, the techniques of natal astrology – the study of astrological influences at the time of birth – became more and more advanced. People wanted to know their fortunes through astrology, so professionals would tell their fortunes through their astrological birth charts. In modern times, the majority of astrologers frown on blatant fortune-telling, preferring to take a more psychological approach.

Basic Language of Astrology

It’s not that hard to grasp the basics of modern natal astrology, which is a lot simpler than traditional astrology. You only need to know four types of symbols in the astrological language: planets, zodiac signs, aspects and houses. There is more to it than that, of course, but those are all you need to start reading charts. (This leaves out computation of charts, for which you need astronomical background– highly recommended.)

Imagine that you are a factory or maybe a business office. The planets are all the people who are involved in the workings of the factory or office. The zodiac signs are the roles they play, or rather, how they fulfill their roles in the business. The aspects tell how the people cooperate with one another. The houses are the various parts or departments of the building where they work.

To translate that into the human individual: Planets are dimensions of your being, each of whom have their own functions: Sun for ego, Moon for instinct, Mercury for communication, Venus for love, etc. Zodiac signs are powers that influence how the planets express themselves. Aspects are the relationships between the planets. Houses mark partitions in the horoscope that stand for fields of experience, like home, work, marriage, etc.

Windows Movie Maker File Conversion Often Necessary

Many people are put off by the thought of trying to edit videos, much less taking on the more complicated features in the programs. But if you keep it simple and just take it step by step, you can have a lot of fun and turn out something reasonably good.

Internet marketing, affiliate sales, and many other ventures can benefit from video content. It works two ways: one is the fact that Google loves video content, and it owns YouTube, so websites with good visual content of this sort typically rank higher. The other is that people often like to see and hear people convey a message through video, they are accustomed to the format.

Once you have a camera, and start taking footage, you’ll be happy to know that Windows Movie Maker is included in all Microsoft operating systems bundles. iMovie is great also, but I don’t know much about that program, but it is what you need if you have a Mac.

One way to solve a lot of video problems in advance is to download the freeware DVD Video Soft. This is a fantastic set of about 40 programs that is completely free, no spyware and no obligations, much less the obnoxious efforts to sign up for other stuff before you get to use the program. And there is no period you can use it before you have to buy it, no “watermarks” that are embedded in the images. Just remember when installing it to decline the toolbar it wants you to allow, and then install it.

The reason you need this set of programs is file conversion, a critical capability if you plan to edit different types of footage from different makes of camera. The 30 gig HDD Sony camera I use creates files that Windows Movie Maker can use immediately, but the my Cisco Flip camera footage needs to be converted. In addition, WMM does not work with the DVD format, that also must be converted. AVI is the gold standard format WMM and many other editing programs prefer to work with.

You hook your camera up to the computer, usually through a USB port, though some older Panasonics go through a 1394 firewire connection, which not all computers have, especially newer ones. If your camera does have the firewire requirement, only buy a computer with that type of jack, or be prepared to buy a box that converts firewire into USB, and more complexities.

A Beacon in the Night

It occurred in suburbia far removed from the city where there is a prevalent sense of safety, security and happiness until this one fateful moonless night.

It had been a common sight to see the rear porch light of Brice and Lillie’s house on all night. There never were any others in the neighborhood that joined in on this nightly ritual. This neighborhood was situated in the Colorado community of Centennial.

Brice and Lillie’s house was in a newly established portion of Centennial that most considered in the “country” as there was little urbanization in that area. This area was surrounded by major highways and roadways where Brice and Lillie’s porch light had become a beacon in the night.

The twist to this tale takes shape clean across the country where the perpendicular path begins with Sissy, Billy and Mark. Sissy is the oldest sister of Billy the youngest and Mark the mean one.

Billy and Mark have been in reform school working the dairy farm where the two of them were granted a weekend furlough to go visit their sister in Portland. Sissy drove to Salem in her ramshackle Granada to pick the boys up. Once on the road to Portland the boys announced to Sissy they were done with the “joint” and not going back.

Sissy tried to reason with them but could not bring about any sense to them. When they arrived in Portland the boys took off while Sissy was gassing the car. Later that evening the boys show up in a nice Cadillac Accolade telling her that this would be the last they would see her for they were heading off to Mexico. In her best big sister way she asked them just how were they going to do that being broke with no money in their pocket.

Mark with a big grin spreading across his face motioned to Sissy that she should follow him outside to their newly acquired vehicle. Going to the back of the vehicle he opens it up and throws back a blanket revealing a pile of guns and ammunition. Any other questions, he asks Sissy?

Troubled and concerned for the safety of her brothers she told them that she was going with them, while thinking to herself that somewhere down the line she would bring about some reason to them where they would end up doing the right thing.

Time Travel Into the Past

We know that time travel into the future is possible. Stephen Hawking says, “We do not have the technology today to do this, but it is just a matter of engineering; we know it can be done.” In Time Travel in Einstein’s Universe: The Physical Possibilities of travel Through Time, physicist J. Richard Gott says “if we can accelerate protons to greater than 99.995 percent of the speed of light, we could also send off an astronaut at the same speed. It’s just a matter of cost.”

The idea of time travel into the past is a far more exciting prospect though. Who hasn’t wanted to travel back into the past? Some would like to return to the past permanently to live in a simpler time and escape forever the stress, crime, pollution, and other unpleasant aspects of 21st century living. Some would like to be time tourists and actually be present in the crowd to hear the Gettysburg Address delivered by President Lincoln himself, to watch the pyramids being built, or to witness firsthand any number of historical events. Some would like to go back to do or undo things that affected their own lives.

There was a young lady called Bright
Who could travel far faster than light;
She set off one day,
In a relative way,
And returned home the previous night.
A.H. R. Buller

A cute limerick, but is it possible? Yes, says, Stephen Hawking, if one can travel faster than the speed of light, one can travel back in time in the same manner that one can travel into the future-by riding a really fast spaceship. The problem, he says, is that while we can accelerate particles to 99.99 percent of the speed of light, we have as yet been unable to exceed the speed of light. Nevertheless, Hawking says, travel to the past may be possible through the use of wormholes. The idea of wormholes is not new. In 1935, Einstein and Rosen wrote a paper saying that the Theory of Relativity allowed for the existence of wormholes and much has been written about them since, but as yet we have no conclusive evidence that they actually exist.
